Reflection #1
This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways, I do not feel that I am able to really utilize all of the many technology avenues that are out there. It is certainly not the fault of not having it available to me. It is because I have not kept up with the 21st century technology.
I will be focusing on understanding and using technology in the classroom to enhance learning for the 21st century. I will be implementing more project based learning into my everyday classroom. My students will be taking a more active part in their learning and work in collaborative groups.

REFLECTION 2

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFO’s and formative assessment in the following ways:
• To create an effective unit and related lessons
• To assess students ‘ progress and needs
• To enhance student participation
1. Students will be able to show that they demonstrated their learning of the standard by completing traditional standard-based tests and quizzes.
2. Students can take ownership of their projects and can collaborate with one another on the outcome of their project.
3. Unit plans will be focused on the standards and will make me focus on specific learning objectives for my unit plan.
4. Students will be able to take compute based test and well as be able to search the web for formative information about projects that they are researching.
5. Projects are built around the standards and CFQ’s to make sure that the students are gaining knowledge that is pertinent to the standards.

3.04

Brainstorm how you could incorporate the internet into your classroom to further enhance student learning in regards to research, communication, and collaboration…
• Use SIRS research to enable students to research information in a child safe environment
• Students can e-mail, blog, or chat with children in any part of the world to compare or reflect on any topics or course of study
• United Streaming and Brain-Pop videos related to content areas

Group members Kriss, Floy, Vernelle, and Pam respond to discussion topic on 4.04

The student samples demonstrated the level of understanding of the unit and content questions. It provided a showcase for them to display their knowledge and for the teacher to assess that knowledge. The 21st century skills include use of the internet for research and communication. Collaboration with other students was evident. They had to organize and make plans to meet the rubric requirements.
They had to have a plan to present to their peers, what they found. Rubric and checklists provide a way to perform individual and self assessments.
